Whey Protein-based Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whey protein powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, whey protein powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, cream the butter until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, and mixing until everything is well combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the surface with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before slicing and serving.

You can frost the cake with your favorite frosting or enjoy it as-is for a protein-packed dessert!
